It looks like my tonsils have split open, what should i do?

i had tonsillitis a month to a month and a half ago. my throat swelled pretty bad. it went away and then came back not even a week later. each time i went to the doctor and got antibiotics and steroids (for the swelling) and i got better. i had my blood testes and my white cell count was at 23. i have been healthy and clear for a long time now. just tonight my throat started to feel sore. i went to look at my throat in the mirror with a flashlight and saw my tonsils really red and my right tonsil looking like it had been cut opened/filleted. could it just be my tonsillitis returning?
