I'm sick, help please, the doctors can't answer.?

So about 2 weeks ago I ended my Friday really drowsy and just off. I was running a fever, 102 degrees or more consistently. 6 days later it turned into a fever with vomiting. So I decided to go to the doctor. They ran blood tests and my doctor told me to go to sleep and take a few days off from work for rest. That this was just a routine cold and it should be over soon. Well a few days after that my fever vanished (thanks Tylenol) and it went to profuse vomiting and a really really sore throat. So I went back to my doctor and they ran more blood tests and started me on an antibiotic. This was about 4 days ago. Because my tonsils are so swollen, and I'm vomiting a lot, I cannot eat. So I was taking my antibiotics on an empty stomach. The doctors started giving me IVs and steroid shots to help relieve some of the pain in my throat. The doctors cannot tell me what I have wrong with me. I have seemed to develop a quarter sized lump on the right and left side of my throat. Does anyone have any ideas as to whats up with me?
