Can I sing 5 days after my tonsils are taken out..?

My tonsils are coming out July 18th and I have a singing audition the 22nd....will I be okay to sing? the doctor said no activity like sports for 10 days...but will it be ok to sing a 2 minute song then rest for the other 5 days.?
